Weddings at Summerhill

Some important information

  • We host a strictly limited number of wedding receptions each year.

  • You rent the pavilion, and the lawns if required, on an hourly rate. Rental for the pavilion is £40/hour and for the lawn it’s £20/hour. You’d need to include any setting up and clearing up time in your calculations.

  • We also offer a ‘flat-rate’ booking which goes from Friday 12pm – Sunday 12pm (assuming your wedding takes place on a Saturday).This gives you use of the pavilion and lower lawn. This is £2000.

Marquee

it’s fine to put up a marquee on the lawn should you wish. Generally speaking the Marquee goes up on a Thursday but that’s no problem for us. There is an additional £200 ground rent charge if you wish to erect a marquee to cover grass maintenance costs.

Catering – we don’t offer catering ourselves but you are welcome to bring
in your own caterers, which will generally work out to be better value for
you anyway. We have a kitchen which has a catering oven and is fine for
most catered events. All we ask is that the kitchen is left clean and tidy after use.

Bar – There is a licensed bar on site.
You can bring your own wine or champagne for a meal or toast; there is a
£7.50 corkage charge per bottle.

Licence – our bar licence runs from 10am to 11:30pm and covers both
inside and outside spaces.
(*Please note, because we’re in a residential area,
music has to be off at 11:15pm and all guests should have
departed by 11:30pm.)

Ross&Jo

Tables and chairs. There are currently 64 chairs available and a selection of tables including trestles and round tables.
You’re welcome to hire in more if required.

Sound system – there’s a PA in the pavilion that you can plug your ipod/laptop
into.

If there’s a date you’d like to reserve, there is a £200 deposit to fix it
in the diary. This is refundable against your total booking fee if the
event does go ahead, and non-refundable if it doesn’t.

Walton’s Marquees
David Walton and his band of merry marquee men are efficient, trustworthy and hard working. Your marquee will be up where it’s supposed to be, when it’s supposed to be – and it will look great.

Pitched Events
Pitched events’ sailcloth tents are architecturally stunning, and have been raising eyebrows on the west coast of America for a few years now.

PapaKata
If you’re looking for something a bit different you could try a papakata – not cheap but they look sensational.
